Who wrote the Declaration of Independence?
It depends on which copy you are looking at. If it is the original rough draft then it would be Thomas Jefferson and edited and edited by Benjamin Franklin and John Adams, if your looking at the Congress’s rough draft then it is written by Benjamin Franklin, if your looking at the Final copy then it is Unknown, if your looking at a copy of Broadside from July 4, 1776 then it was printed by John Dunlap by the order of congress(Thomas Kindig). But some people do not believe this is the truth and say that many authors wrote each different document, the only one we are sure about is the Broadside’s printed by John Dunlap because his Order was written in the Minutes of the Congress of the U.S.A of 1776(The Declaration of Independence ). It is also said that Thomas Jefferson was only selected to write the Declaration of Independence because Richard H. Lee was absent the day that the Congress of the U.S.A. choose who would write the Declaration of Independence(“Thomas Jefferson Selected as the Author Because Richard H. Lee Was Absent “). So with all that said I would have to say that The Declaration of Independence is a mysterious document that we know little about even though it was one of the most important documents in American history. So the answer that I have come up with is that the Declaration of Independence was written by an Unknown author that is still waiting to recieve his/her credit.
